30 Day Blog Challenge

Alooooooooooooooha!

I'm embarking on a non-food related challenge! I stole this idea from my friend Casey. I figured anyone reading this could stand to know Cait the Great a little more besides my amazing cooking skills (Fact #1: modesty is definitely my best quality.) So check it out:

Day 2 - your favorite movie
Day 3 - your favorite television program
Day 4 - your favorite book
Day 5 - your favorite quote
Day 6 - 20 of my favorite things
Day 7 - a photo that makes you happy
Day 8 - a photo that makes you angry/sad
Day 9 - a photo you took
Day 10 - a photo taken over 10 years ago of you
Day 11 - a photo of you recently
Day 12 - something you are OCD about
Day 13 - a fictional book
Day 14 - a non-fictional book
Day 15 - your dream house
Day 16 - a song that makes you cry (or nearly)
Day 17 - an art piece (drawing, sculpture, painting, etc)
Day 18 - my wedding/future wedding/past wedding
Day 19 - a talent of yours
Day 20 - a hobby of yours
Day 21 - a recipe
Day 22 - a website
Day 23 - a youtube video
Day 24 - where I live
Day 25 - your day, in great detail
Day 26 - your week, in great detail
Day 27 - my worst habit
Day 28 - what's in my handbag/purse
Day 29 - hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days
Day 30 - a dream for the future

I have to say I'm incredibly excited about this challenge. I'm of course still going to be posting recipes in between. Jon and I are going on "staycation" starting Sunday the 17th so I'm hopefully going to have lots of time to test new recipes. Most of the new recipes are also going to be low-cal because we're trying to develop a new eating style that is tasty and healthy so we can look like "movie stahs" on the big day.

The days I'm most excited for? Days 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 18, 21, 24, 29 and 30. I'm really excited to share some details about our future wedding on Day 18 because Jon and I are finally going to start planning during our staycation. So, I'm hopefully actually going to have things to share in 18 days.

Our first big step is to make a guest list. My main concern with my guest list is the fact that most of our family and friends are along the East Coast. Therefore, before I go book venues I need an actual idea of those who are going to come to the wedding. As you might guess, everyone will jump at an excuse to come out to Hawaii, but I don't know how many will actually make the trip?

My other concern is the cost. A lot of the venues on the North Shore of Oahu are incredibly expensive. Of course, it's a dream wedding location but I really don't want to spend $20,000 on 6 hours. I know some people would do that in an instant but I'm more practical, I'd say. I would much rather spend $5-10,000 and have money left over to buy a house, start a family, send my kids to college some day? Haha. That's just me though.

Anyways, enough with my random thoughts. I'm excited to start this challenge!!!
